funding indie films

    if it's an indie film it doesn't get funding. to get funding you have to get permission from the powers that be and make the project in a way that conforms to their vision of things. At least that's how I see it. A lot of arts funding goes through networks. If you don't know the right people then you can fill out all the paperwork you want but... Anyway people call films made by millionaire producers daughters independent maybe they have a broader definition of things than me.

    where are you working Ford? There are probably a couple of arts councils in your area that give out grants once or twice a year . . . you just gotta apply to *lots* of 'em and maybe - just MAYBE - you'll get one!

    oh and I think it still qualifies as "indie" if you can swing a grant in your direction . . .

      sorry but we're American our tax money is spent on incacerating the "bad" people or finding new ways to blow them up. We don't need sissified stuff like "arts councils" we've got the bible. Depends how you want to define independent but all that grant stuff seems like a rigged game to me.
